Hello! My name is Julia Williamson. I am a graduate of Cortiva in Arlington TX and I absolutely love what I do! I was working in a very busy Level 1 trauma Emergency Room when I found my calling to this field. I saw many nurses, EMT's, Paramedics, Police, and Firefighters giving all they had of themselves during a shift and saw first hand how it affects their bodies. Emergency staff and first responders, you are my people. Please know this, please know that I see you and I understand.
These wonderful people pushed me to go to school because they saw my natural talent for massage. It was in school that I learned about the modalities that I lean towards such as Trigger Point, Reflexology, Myofascial Release, Cranial-Sacral, Shiatsu. These modalities get incorporated when they are called for in a massage- I do not charge extra for them but listen to what you and your body ask for during a session.
Again, I love this work. I love to partner with you to reteach your body how to let go of the tension it carries. I love to give you space and time to breathe and relax. And I love to work out those nasty little knots that you may or may not realize are present.
My business name is Coming Home Massage-This has always been the only name to choose for this business. When I turned 30 I finally started the road home to being myself. It was time to be me and I walked right into massage therapy. I have never had so many confirmations about a path to follow and I have never enjoyed something so much. My favorite sight is someones "massage drunk" face after getting off my table.
Shortly after learning my graduation date, I learned a dear friend would be coming home right around that time and there would be more reasons for celebration... the name "Coming Home Massage" started to stick... This was only the beginning... I stumbled on the phrase "this journey is all about coming home to who we really are", and it became the quote I built my vision around. I was later reminded of the song Coming Home by Skylar Grey and remembered how many times I sang that song at the top of my lungs during the harder parts of my life... Then the story of the prodigal son randomly showed up on a social media feed, and the name Coming Home Massage was set in stone...
So- this is my intention. To create a space that can feel like home, no matter how far your real home might be. Not the house you live in necessarily, but the place you can drop your bags at the door and run into peace. A place where your burdens don't have to follow you and you can feel lighter for a bit of time. I will aim to create an actual safe space for your soul, and I will learn all I can to be continually better at the work I do. You may not be able to go back to a physical house, but I can promise you, no matter how far you roam, your soul can always return home to who you truly are... and if you need a place to drop the bags and burdens of your weary heart for a moment, my doors will be wide open to you on your journey...
